The State of World Population Report has been published by UNFPA since 1978. Each year, the report focuses on issues of current interest related to population and development.
In 2020, the report addresses harmful practices that harm women and girls and prevent equality. Entitled: “Against My Will: Defying practices that harm women and girls and prevent equality”, the study focuses on the three most prevalent practices: female genital mutilation, child marriage and extreme bias against daughters in favour of sons.
