"This maternity hospital has been very affected, it is just one of many health centers that have been partially or totally destroyed." This visit will help us see how to assist with the care of women in situations of vulnerability. The SRH kits delivered here and in other health centers are composed of drugs and equipment to help women, especially pregnant women," said Dr. Cassimo Bique, who is a member of the UNFPA team.

Just In Macomia, more than 20,000 people have been affected, according to the government. Many have lost their homes and have been living in accommodation centers since the cyclone struck on 25 April.

"Before everything was separated, we had a lot of rooms for each service. The women were in different environment after the delivery. Now everything is destroyed: medicines, documents, equipment. "I am with a mother in labor in an impromptu room", said nurse Ancha Raique.
