Country Representative

Ms. Andrea M. Wojnar

Ms. Wojnar has served as UNFPA Mozambique Representative since October 2017. She was previously the UNFPA Senegal Representative/Country Director for The Gambia.  

With over three decades of experience, Ms. Wojnar manages development programmes and humanitarian operations and conducts high-level policy dialogue and advocacy to empower the world’s most vulnerable - especially women, girls, and youth - to reach their full human potential through the promotion and provision of sexual & reproductive health and rights and gender equality. 

Before joining the United Nations, she directed country and regional programmes from grassroots to national levels for the US Peace Corps, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and the American Red Cross Society in over 50 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Ms. Wojnar holds Master of Arts Degrees in Management and African Social Change & Development/Economics from McGill University (Montreal) and the Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies (Washington D.C.), and is a Bachelor's degree with Honors graduate from Wesleyan University, (CT, USA).
